This medication is used for the emergency treatment of severe acute allergic reactions, namely anaphylaxis. Anaphylaxis can occur due to insect stings or bites, food, medications, and other allergens. It is also effective in cases of idiopathic anaphylaxis or exercise-induced anaphylaxis. This medication helps rapidly alleviate these sudden allergic symptoms and protects life. Therefore, it is used as an essential treatment in anaphylaxis emergencies.

How it is given

Adult administration

In adults, it may be administered more than once for the treatment of allergic reactions. Administer the initial dose as soon as anaphylaxis symptoms are observed. Precautions

This drug contains a component called sodium metabisulfite, which can rarely cause serious allergic reactions or bronchospasms. Possible side effects may include tremors, dizziness, headache, palpitations, tachycardia, angina, arrhythmias, increased blood pressure, nausea, vomiting, and injection site reactions, especially risking blood circulation disturbances if injected incorrectly in the hands or feet. Patients using this drug and those around them should understand the proper use and be educated for emergency situations, regularly checking the drug's availability and expiration date. Additionally, as this drug can interact with other medications, it is essential to consult a physician when taking heart medications, diuretics, antidepressants, thyroid hormones, insulin, etc. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should carefully consider the benefits and risks of using this drug, and it is advisable to avoid using it during labor. In case of overdose, severe side effects such as sudden hypertension, cardiac arrhythmias, myocardial damage, and pulmonary edema may occur, requiring immediate medical attention. This drug should be stored below 25 degrees Celsius and kept out of reach of children. It should not be used if discoloration or precipitates occur.
