Improvement of knee osteoarthritis and adhesive capsulitis.
This medication is used to alleviate inflammation and pain around joints, such as knee osteoarthritis and adhesive capsulitis.
Typically, 1 injection per week for adults, administered into the knee joint or shoulder joint (shoulder joint cavity, subacromial bursa, or biceps tendon sheath) for 3 consecutive weeks. Adjust the frequency of administration appropriately based on symptoms.
This medication should not be used in patients who have had allergic reactions to any of its ingredients. Use with caution in patients with a history of allergy to other medications, liver dysfunction, or previous liver disease. Additionally, if there is a skin condition or infection at the injection site, the administration into the joint should be done carefully. There is a possibility of severe allergic reactions such as shock when using this medication, so symptoms should be carefully monitored, and if abnormalities occur, administration should be stopped immediately and appropriate treatment should be sought. Symptoms of hypersensitivity such as swelling around the face or eyes, rash, or itching may occur, and if these symptoms develop, administration should be ceased and treatment should be initiated. There may also be temporary pain, swelling, redness, warmth, or pressure at the injection site that should be observed. Occasionally, symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, or fever may occur. Administering this medication directly to an inflamed joint may worsen the inflammation, so it is advisable to use it after the inflammation subsides. Post-administration, appropriate measures such as immobilizing the joint area are recommended. If the injection leaks outside the joint, it can cause pain, so it must be injected accurately into the joint. When injecting, maintain a clean environment and sterile conditions, and if symptoms do not improve, stop administration after three injections. In the case of excessive joint fluid, it should be drained as necessary, and intravenous administration is strictly prohibited and it should not be used for ophthalmic purposes. It is recommended to use fine needles suitable for injection therapy, and care should be taken as mixing with certain disinfectants may cause precipitation. The safety of this medication during pregnancy or in women who may become pregnant is not certain, so it should be used cautiously only when the benefits of treatment outweigh the risks. Furthermore, since this medication can be transmitted through breast milk, it is advisable to avoid breastfeeding during administration. Safety has not been fully established in children, so it should be used cautiously only when necessary. Elderly patients may have diminished physical function, so it should be used with extra caution.
