Treatment of corticosteroid-responsive skin diseases (such as allergic dermatitis, contact dermatitis, etc.)
This medication is used in cases of infection by bacteria or fungi, or when there is a risk of infection. It is particularly effective for corticosteroid-responsive skin diseases and helps treat allergic dermatitis, contact dermatitis, atopic dermatitis, seborrheic dermatitis, eczema, lichen simplex, exfoliative dermatitis, and chronic simple lichen (neurodermatitis). It improves the skin condition of patients and is effective in reducing inflammation. This medication alleviates various dermatitis symptoms to help maintain pleasant skin health.
Apply an appropriate amount to the affected area and surrounding areas lightly twice daily, in the morning and evening.
This medication should not be used on wounds or mucous membrane areas. If there is a bacterial, fungal, viral infection, or infection caused by animals on the skin, it should be avoided as symptoms may worsen. Patients who have allergies to this medication or its components, or have shown hypersensitivity reactions, should not use this medication. Caution is needed if there is a hole in the eardrum or if there is eczema of the external ear canal, as healing may be delayed. It is advisable not to use this medication for patients with ulcers, severe burns, or frostbite as skin regeneration may be hindered. If there is perioral dermatitis, common acne, or rosacea, this medication should be avoided. Those with hypersensitivity to aminoglycoside antibiotics or bacitracin should be cautious when using this medication. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant, and nursing mothers should use this medication with caution, and particular care is needed for children or infants. This medication contains propylene glycol, so individuals allergic to this component should take special care. Skin infections may develop, so if symptoms appear, discontinue use immediately and consult a physician. Various skin side effects such as folliculitis, skin irritation, itching, and rashes may occur, so if any abnormal symptoms appear, stop use and consult a specialist. Long-term use may lead to side effects such as thinning of the skin or dilation of blood vessels, so it is advisable to avoid prolonged use. When used in large quantities or under occlusive bandages, systemic side effects may occur, so particular care should be taken. When used around the eyes, there may be an increase in intraocular pressure or problems like glaucoma, so care should be taken to avoid contact with the eyes. Prolonged usage can cause serious side effects such as renal dysfunction or hearing loss, so the duration of use should be limited. The prescribed dosage and administration should be strictly adhered to, and when used in children, parental supervision is necessary. Local corticosteroids can be absorbed systemically affecting hormone function, so regular examinations are needed when used extensively or under occlusive bandage methods. If symptoms improve, it is advisable to discontinue use as soon as possible, and if symptoms worsen, stop immediately and consult medical personnel. Particular consideration should be given to the risk of side effects when used in sensitive areas such as the face, neck, or genitals. Allergic reactions may occur, so if itching, redness, or swelling occurs, discontinue use immediately. Prolonged use of this medication is not recommended, and usage on the face or genital areas should be avoided for more than one week. Visual impairment may occur after using local steroids, so if symptoms such as blurred vision or other abnormal symptoms develop, an ophthalmologic examination should be obtained. After prolonged or improper usage, local steroid withdrawal syndrome may develop, so caution should be exercised. Use during pregnancy carries the risk of teratogenic effects, so pregnant or potentially pregnant women should not use this medication. During breastfeeding, there is a possibility that this medication may be transmitted through breast milk, so consulting medical personnel before use is necessary. Children are at a higher risk of side effects compared to adults, so particular care should be taken in their usage, especially in cases where diapers are used as they may show effects similar to occlusive bandaging. Care should be taken to avoid contact with the eyes, and if it gets into the eyes, rinse thoroughly with clean water, and seek ophthalmologic care if symptoms are severe. Avoid use after makeup or shaving, and occlusive bandaging should only be used according to a physician's instructions.
