Prevention of cisplatin-induced neurotoxicity
This medication is used to prevent neurotoxicity caused by cisplatin or similar chemotherapy agents. It helps to protect against nerve damage that may occur during cancer treatment, alleviating neurological symptoms and improving the patient's quality of life.
In severe cases, 600-1200 mg should be administered by intramuscular injection or intravenous drip daily. In cases of treatment over several days or mild cases, 300-600 mg should be administered by intramuscular injection or intravenous drip daily.
This medication may rarely cause severe allergic reactions such as anaphylaxis; therefore, it is important to closely monitor the patient's condition during administration. If symptoms such as facial pallor, low blood pressure, or abnormal pulse occur, usage should be stopped immediately. Additionally, allergic reactions such as skin rashes may occur rarely, and it is important to discontinue administration if such symptoms arise. Gastrointestinal symptoms, such as loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, or abdominal pain, may occur rarely, so it is advisable to consult medical staff if these symptoms appear. When preparing the medication, it should be used immediately after dissolving the vial formulation, as prolonged exposure can reduce its efficacy. When administering intramuscular injections, care should be taken to avoid nerves and blood vessels, and the injection site should be rotated if repeated injections are required. Particular caution is needed when administering this medication to children or minors. This medication should be stored in a secure place out of reach of children, and transferring the medication to a different container can lead to misuse or degradation of quality, so it must be kept in the original container with the cap tightly closed.
Not everyone experiences these, and they can vary from person to person.
This medication should be stored in a sealed container to prevent exposure to air and moisture, and it is recommended to keep it at room temperature between 1 degree and 30 degrees Celsius. Proper storage will help maintain the medication's efficacy over time.
