Prevention and treatment of vitamin B1 deficiency and metabolic disorders (neuralgia, myalgia, etc.)
This medication is used for the prevention and treatment of vitamin B1 deficiency. It also helps provide vitamin B1 in cases of inadequate food intake, such as in wasting diseases, hyperthyroidism, in pregnant or lactating women, or during intense physical labor. It is effective for conditions like Wernicke's encephalopathy and beriberi. It is also used when vitamin B1 deficiency or metabolic disorders are suspected, such as neuralgia, myalgia, arthralgia, peripheral neuropathy and paralysis, myocardial metabolic disorders, gastrointestinal motility disorders, and postoperative bowel paralysis; however, indiscriminate long-term use should be avoided. Therefore, this medication is used to improve various symptoms and diseases associated with vitamin B1 deficiency.
As Fursultiamine, normally, adults inject 5 to 100 mg subcutaneously, intramuscularly, or intravenously daily. Adjust the dosage as appropriate according to the symptoms.
This medication is used as an injection, and care should be taken when cutting the glass ampoule. When cutting the ampoule, glass fragments may mix in; thus, extra caution is needed, especially when administering to children or the elderly. Patients allergic to any ingredients in this medication must not use it. Moreover, patients who have experienced drug allergic reactions in the past should use this medication with caution. Severe allergic reactions or shocks may rarely occur, so if there are abnormal symptoms such as blood pressure drop, chest pain, or breathing difficulties during administration, immediately stop administering the drug and seek appropriate treatment. Also, if hypersensitivity reactions such as skin rashes occur, stop using the medication. Gastrointestinal symptoms may include nausea, vomiting, inflammation of the oral cavity, and, on occasion, diarrhea, as well as reported headaches and frequent urination. During injection, vascular pain may occur, so it is advisable to inject as slowly as possible. When using the injection solution, any remaining medication should not be reused to avoid bacterial contamination. When cutting the ampoule, use a one-point cut method, and with the indication at the top, gently apply pressure to cut the opposite side, ensuring cleanliness of the top of the ampoule with alcohol swabs to prevent contamination. Lastly, this medication should be kept out of the reach of children, and transferring it to another container should be avoided to prevent accidents and degradation of quality.
