Treatment of inflammatory diseases of the external eye and anterior chamber (blepharitis, conjunctivitis, etc.)
This medication is effectively used for various inflammatory diseases of the external eye and anterior chamber, including blepharitis, conjunctivitis, keratitis, and inflammation of tissues surrounding the eye such as scleritis and episcleritis, iritis and iridocyclitis, and uveitis. It also helps in treating inflammation following surgery. This medication aids in alleviating eye inflammation symptoms and supports the recovery of eye health.
Instill 1-2 drops per application, 2-4 times a day. Adjust dosage as appropriate based on symptoms.
This medication should not be used in patients with viral keratitis, fungal eye diseases, mycobacterial infections of the eye, or chronic blepharitis. Additionally, it is contraindicated for patients with corneal epithelial defects or corneal ulcers, patients with tuberculous or purulent eye diseases, glaucoma patients, and infants under 2 years of age; if it must be used, it should be administered with extreme caution. Long-term use of this medication may lead to increased intraocular pressure, glaucoma, optic nerve damage, and impaired vision, so regular intraocular pressure checks are important. If there is an infection such as herpetic keratitis or corneal ulcers, this medication can exacerbate symptoms or cause corneal perforation, so caution is necessary. Rarely, cataracts may develop with prolonged use, and there may be an increased risk of eye infections due to immune suppression. When acute purulent eye infections are present, using this medication may mask or worsen infection symptoms, so care is warranted. The phosphate component included in this medication can rarely cause corneal calcification in patients with severe corneal damage. Healing may be delayed after cataract surgery, and long-term use can suppress hormonal functions in the body. If any allergic symptoms occur, discontinue use immediately, and serious problems may arise if infected with chickenpox or measles while using this medication, so it is essential to check the medical history and vaccination status. Using this medication on bloodshot eyes without a physician's diagnosis poses a risk of vision loss, so consultation with an expert is mandatory. For prolonged use exceeding 10 days, pediatric patients or those unable to cooperate should have regular intraocular pressure checks as well. If inflammation or pain lasts for more than 48 hours or worsens, discontinue use immediately and consult a doctor. If wearing contact lenses, remove them before instilling this medication, and wait at least 30 minutes after use before re-inserting. Temporary blurring of vision may occur when instilling drops, so it is advisable to avoid driving or operating dangerous machinery. The risk of systemic side effects may increase when using this medication with certain drugs, so inform your doctor if you are taking other medications. Pregnant women or those who may become pregnant should avoid long-term use, and it is safer not to use this medication during breastfeeding. There is insufficient safety data for use in infants and young children, so caution is advised. In elderly patients, reduced bodily function necessitates more careful use of this medication. This medication is for ophthalmic use only, and care should be taken to avoid direct contact between the opening of the container and the eye when instilling. Shake well before use, and it is preferable not to share the product with others to prevent contamination. Store this medication in a sealed container, away from air and moisture. It is safest to keep the medication at room temperature between 1 to 30 degrees Celsius, avoiding extremely hot or cold places.
