Relief of symptoms related to osteoarthritis of the knee and adhesive capsulitis of the shoulder.
This medication is used for the treatment of osteoarthritis of the knee and adhesive capsulitis of the shoulder.
Generally, for adults, administer 1 vial once a week for 3 consecutive weeks into the knee joint or shoulder joint (shoulder joint cavity, subacromial bursa, or long head of biceps tendon sheath), but the frequency of administration should be adjusted according to symptoms. This medication is administered into the joint, so it must be performed under strict aseptic conditions.
This medication should not be used in patients with hypersensitivity to its ingredients. Caution should be exercised in patients with allergies to other medications or with liver dysfunction. Care is required if there are skin conditions or infections at the joint injection site. Severe allergic reactions such as shock may occur with this medication; if symptoms arise, administration should be stopped immediately and appropriate treatment should be received. If hypersensitivity reactions such as swelling of the face or around the eyes, rash, or itching occur, administration should be halted and treated. Temporary pain, swelling, redness, or warmth may occur at the injection site, along with nausea, vomiting, or fever. This medication can worsen symptoms in inflamed joints, so it is advisable to use it only after the inflammation subsides. After injection, the injection site should be stabilized to ensure that the medication is properly administered into the joint. This medication should only be administered to the knee or shoulder in a sterile condition, and if there is no effect, it should only be given up to three times. If there is excess joint fluid, it is preferable to drain it before injection. It should not be used intravenously or in the eye, and a 22-23 gauge needle is appropriate for injection. This medication may form precipitates if mixed with certain disinfectants, so care should be taken not to use them together. Pregnant women or those who may become pregnant should use this medication cautiously, and it is safer to avoid administration during breastfeeding. In children, safety has not been established, so it should be administered with extreme caution. Elderly individuals may have decreased bodily functions, so caution should be exercised during use.
