This medication is used for patients with essential hypertension whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled by monotherapy.

How to take

Adult dose

The recommended adult dosage is 1 tablet of Valsartan 80 mg/Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg once daily, taken with a small amount of water regardless of meals. If prescribed Valsartan 160 mg/Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg, take Valsartan 160 mg/Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg. Dose adjustments are not necessary for patients with mild to moderate renal impairment (creatinine clearance ≥ 30 mL/min).

Precautions

This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus when taken during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters, so it should be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. This medication should not be used by patients with hypersensitivity to certain ingredients or those with severe liver or kidney impairment. Patients with electrolyte imbalances, fluid depletion, kidney and liver dysfunction, elderly patients, and those with heart failure should use this medication with caution. This medication may cause dizziness or drowsiness, so care should be taken when driving or operating machinery.
