Moreover, caution is needed when administering this medication. Patients currently taking blood pressure-lowering medications, those with symptoms of orthostatic hypotension, patients with coronary artery disease, and those with prolonged QT interval should use this medication carefully. Symptoms such as dizziness, fatigue, and sweating may appear when first taking this medication; therefore, it is advisable to rest lying down when these symptoms occur. Rarely, serious side effects such as heart-related problems, skin rashes, and thrombocytopenia may occur, so if any abnormal symptoms arise, it is essential to consult a doctor immediately. This medication may induce a rare complication known as intraoperative floppy iris syndrome during cataract surgery, so patients scheduled for surgery must inform their ophthalmologist about the use of this medication. The tablets should be swallowed whole and not crushed or chewed, as this may lead to rapid absorption and increase the risk of side effects.
