Improvement in blood pressure control of essential hypertension through the combination of Amlodipine and Valsartan
This medicine is used for patients with essential hypertension who have difficulty controlling blood pressure with monotherapy using Amlodipine or Valsartan. It helps effectively lower blood pressure and reduce cardiovascular risk.
The recommended dosage of this medication is one tablet daily, taken with water, regardless of meals. It is recommended to take it at the same time each day (e.g., in the morning) if possible.
The safety and efficacy of this medication have not been established for patients under 18 years of age, and its use is not recommended.
This medication may cause serious harm to the fetus and newborn if taken during the second or third trimester of pregnancy; therefore, it should be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. Patients with allergies to this medication's main components or similar drugs, women who are pregnant or breastfeeding, and those with severe kidney or liver disorders should not take this medication. Patients with low sodium or fluid levels in the body may experience low blood pressure; therefore, their condition should be checked before taking this medication, and blood pressure should be closely monitored during treatment. Patients with high potassium levels or those taking medications that may increase potassium levels should have their potassium levels checked frequently. Patients with abnormalities in renal blood vessels or those who have recently undergone kidney transplantation may experience worsened kidney function while taking this medication; hence, careful monitoring is necessary. If symptoms of angioedema occur, the medication should be discontinued immediately and a doctor should be consulted, and it should not be taken again. Patients with heart failure or those after myocardial infarction should carefully assess and monitor kidney function while taking this medication. This medication may cause dizziness or fatigue, hence caution is needed while driving or operating machinery. In case of overdose, low blood pressure or arrhythmias may occur, and immediate medical attention is required. This medication can interact with other blood pressure medications or specific drugs, so patients must inform their doctor or pharmacist of any other medications they are taking. Elderly patients may take the usual dose, but it is important to follow the clinician's instructions depending on their condition. The safety and effectiveness of this medication have not been established for children or adolescents under 18 years of age, and its use is not recommended. Patients with impaired liver function should adjust the dosage of this medication, and those with severe liver impairment should avoid taking it. Possible adverse reactions during treatment include headache, dizziness, swelling, rash, and if severe symptoms occur, immediate consultation with a healthcare professional is advised.
