Efficacy & effects

Improvement in blood pressure control for essential hypertension

  • Essential hypertension
View approved original text

Essential hypertension is a condition where blood pressure consistently exceeds the normal range, and in some cases, blood pressure may not be adequately controlled with either amlodipine or valsartan monotherapy. In such cases, additional treatment or combination with other medications may be considered. Since essential hypertension increases the risk of stroke, heart disease, and other complications, appropriate treatment is very important. Amlodipine works by dilating blood vessels to lower blood pressure, while valsartan helps control blood pressure by inhibiting vascular contraction. By effectively managing blood pressure using these medications, the risk of complications due to hypertension can be reduced. Therefore, these medications are used for the control of essential hypertension.
