Treatment of moderate to severe Alzheimer's disease
This medication is used to treat moderate to severe Alzheimer's disease. It helps alleviate memory decline and cognitive impairment in patients and assists in maintaining daily living abilities. Additionally, it contributes to improving quality of life by slowing the progression of symptoms. This drug helps Alzheimer's patients lead a more stable life.
This medication is taken orally once daily at the same time each day. If necessary, it may be taken twice daily. Dose escalation: The maximum daily dose is 20 mg, with an increase of 5 mg each week over the first 3 weeks. - First week (days 1-7): Take 5 mg once daily - Second week (days 8-14): Take 10 mg once daily - Third week (days 15-21): Take 15 mg once daily - From the fourth week: 1
This medication should not be administered to patients with an allergy to any components of this drug. It is safe not to use in patients with severely impaired liver function or severely reduced kidney function. Caution should be exercised when administering to patients with epilepsy or past history of seizures, or in patients who have a high risk of seizures. Avoid co-administration with other medications that have similar effects, as this may exacerbate side effects. Patients who may have changes in urine acidity due to urinary tract infections or dietary changes need careful monitoring of their condition. Use with caution in patients with heart disease or uncontrolled hypertension, as the safety of this medication has not been fully established in these populations. During treatment, side effects such as dizziness, headache, constipation, drowsiness, and hypertension may occur; consult a physician if symptoms worsen. Inform healthcare providers before starting new medications, as interactions may occur. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should exercise caution before using this medication, and those who are nursing should ideally discontinue breastfeeding. It is recommended not to use this medication in children or adolescents under 18 years of age as safety and efficacy have not been established. In cases of overdose, central nervous system symptoms or gastrointestinal symptoms may appear, and medical attention should be sought immediately if suspected. This medication may impair responsiveness, so caution is needed while driving or operating machinery. Store out of reach of children and do not transfer to another container.
