Vitamin D is important to supplement during certain periods such as pregnancy, lactation, growth periods, and old age. This vitamin helps in the healthy development of bones and teeth and prevents developmental disorders that may occur due to deficiency. It also plays a vital role in preventing a bone disease called rickets and maintaining bone strength and health. Therefore, it is used to ensure adequate Vitamin D supply during these times and conditions to maintain bone health.

How to take

Adult dose

Take 1 tablet once daily after meals.

Child dose

For children aged 8 and older, take 1 tablet once daily after meals.

Precautions

This medication should not be taken by patients with hypercalcemia (excessive calcium in the blood), sarcoidosis (an unknown cause systemic inflammatory disease), or kidney disease. Additionally, those who have had allergic reactions to the components of this medication, infants under 12 months, patients with kidney stones, and those with severe renal failure should also avoid this medication. Because this medication contains lactose, individuals with galactose intolerance, lactose deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption should not take it. During treatment with this medication, it is advisable not to take other medications such as phosphates, calcium salts, oral tetracycline antibiotics, and antacids concurrently. Patients receiving medical treatment or those who are exposed to a lot of sunlight, pregnant or breastfeeding women, premature infants, individuals with heart or circulatory dysfunction, kidney disorders, hypoproteinemia, those taking cardiac glycosides, and individuals with a history of kidney stones should consult a doctor or pharmacist before taking this medication. If symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, low blood pressure, flushing, irregular heartbeat, or skin rash occur during use, discontinue the medication immediately and consult a healthcare professional. Overdose may result in gastrointestinal disorders, hypernatremia, heart failure, and edema, and prolonged use can lead to hypercalcemia and nephrolithiasis, requiring caution. Especially, taking this medication together with anti-aldosterone agents or triamterene can increase potassium levels in the blood, so caution is advised. Adhere strictly to the dosage, and it should be administered to children under the supervision of a guardian. It is also advisable to avoid drinking tea containing tannins, such as green tea or black tea, before or after taking the medication. Store this medication in a place out of reach of children, away from direct sunlight, in a cool, dry place. Additionally, to prevent misuse and maintain quality, it is important not to transfer the medication to another container.
