This medication is used for the treatment of acute and chronic pain ranging from moderate to severe.

How to take

Adult dose

Adjust the dosage according to the patient's level of pain and response to treatment. Administer an initial dose of 2 tablets, with a minimum interval of 12 hours between doses. Do not exceed 8 tablets per day. For long-term administration, regular monitoring should be conducted. Elderly patients should receive the usual adult dose; however, patients over 75 years old should be administered at intervals of at least 12 hours.

Precautions

This medication may burden the liver; therefore, individuals who consume more than three alcoholic beverages daily must consult a doctor or pharmacist before taking it. If skin rashes or severe allergic reactions occur during the use of this medication, discontinue use immediately and consult a healthcare professional. Due to the risk of seizures, patients with a history of seizures or who are taking medications that may provoke seizures should be administered with caution. This medication can rarely cause severe allergic reactions; thus, if symptoms like difficulty in breathing or hives occur, inform healthcare professionals immediately. When administered to patients with severe asthma, caution must be taken as there is a risk of respiratory depression, and it should be used in a facility equipped with medical equipment. Concurrent use of this medication with alcohol or central nervous system depressants may result in severe drowsiness, respiratory depression, or coma, thus co-administration should be avoided. Patients with head injuries or brain diseases may experience increased intracranial pressure when taking this medication, so caution is necessary. This medication may cause physical and psychological dependence; therefore, long-term use should be monitored closely for signs of dependence. Patients with poor liver function must consult a doctor before taking this medication and must be careful to ensure that the daily dosage does not exceed 4,000 mg. Patients with specific genotypes may metabolize this medication quickly, increasing the risk of respiratory depression; therefore, dosage adjustment and careful monitoring are required. This medication should not be administered to children under 12 years of age or to children after certain surgeries, and it should also be avoided in children aged 12 to 18 in the presence of special risk factors. Elderly patients or patients at risk of hyponatremia should be carefully monitored for symptoms of hyponatremia during the use of this medication. Patients who are allergic to any ingredients in this medication, those with severe respiratory depression, central nervous system drug toxicity, or severe liver, kidney, or heart diseases should not take it. Pregnant or nursing women should consult a doctor as this medication may pose risks to the fetus or newborn. This medication may induce drowsiness or dizziness; caution is needed while driving or operating machinery. In cases of overdose, serious respiratory depression, liver damage, etc., may occur; therefore, adhere to the prescribed dosage, and seek emergency treatment if abnormal symptoms arise.
