Precautions

This medication should not be administered to certain patients. For example, it should not be used by individuals with allergies to this drug or its components, patients with type 1 diabetes, individuals with severe liver impairment, those with muscle disorders, and women who are pregnant or nursing. While this drug acts to control blood sugar and lower cholesterol levels, caution must be exercised when using it in patients with severely impaired kidney function or weak liver function. Additionally, patients with heart failure or muscle weakness symptoms should also be treated with caution. If unusual symptoms such as muscle pain or weakness, severe stomach pain, or skin blisters occur while taking this medication, it is essential to consult a physician immediately. Muscle-related symptoms are rare but can be severe, so careful attention is needed. Furthermore, interactions may occur when this drug is used in combination with others, so it's necessary to inform the healthcare professional of any current medications. For example, taking it with certain antibiotics or antifungals, or immunosuppressants may increase the risk of muscle abnormal reactions. Women who are pregnant or potentially pregnant should consult a doctor before taking this medication and must use appropriate contraceptive methods. It is also advisable for nursing mothers to avoid taking this medication. Elderly patients may have reduced liver and kidney function, so a more careful observation is required when taking this medication. In case of overdose, as there is no specific antidote, if overdose is suspected, seek medical attention immediately for appropriate treatment and monitor liver function and muscle enzyme levels. This medication is known not to significantly affect driving or machine operation; however, caution is needed as symptoms such as dizziness may occur. Finally, the safety and efficacy of this medication have not been established in children, so it is advisable not to use it in individuals under 18 years of age.
