Patients with essential hypertension may require additional treatment when adequate blood pressure control is not achieved with monotherapy using telmisartan or amlodipine. This medication helps to steadily lower blood pressure and prevent cardiovascular complications. Therefore, it is used for adequate blood pressure control and is effective in managing blood pressure.

How to take

Adult dose

The recommended dosage of this medication is one tablet once daily, to be taken with water regardless of meals. It is recommended to take it at the same time each day if possible (e.g., in the morning). - 40/5 mg: Given to patients whose blood pressure is inadequately controlled with 5 mg of amlodipine or 40 mg of telmisartan. - 80/5 mg: Given to patients whose blood pressure is inadequately controlled with 5 mg of amlodipine or this medication 40/5 mg.

Child dose

Precautions

This medication can pose serious risks to the fetus when taken during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters; therefore, it should not be taken by pregnant women or women who may become pregnant. This medication should not be administered to patients with certain conditions, such as severe liver impairment, left ventricular outflow obstruction, severe hypotension, cardiac shock, or unstable heart failure following acute myocardial infarction. Additionally, it is also safe not to take this medication during breastfeeding. Caution should be exercised when administering this medication to patients with primary aldosteronism, aortic and mitral stenosis, liver impairment, active gastrointestinal disorders, renovascular hypertension, kidney failure requiring dialysis, and elderly patients. Common side effects upon administration include dizziness and peripheral edema, while rare cases might include fainting or severe allergic reactions. Since this medication lowers blood pressure, it is essential to consult a doctor immediately if symptoms of hypotension appear, and special attention is required for patients with depleted fluids or salt. There is a risk of hyperkalemia, so it is advisable to regularly monitor serum potassium levels. Patients with diminished kidney function should frequently monitor their kidney function and electrolyte status. This medication may interact with some drugs, so patients must inform healthcare providers if they are taking other medications. Taking this medication during pregnancy can result in serious fetal damage, thus it should be discontinued immediately if pregnancy is confirmed. During breastfeeding, this medication can be transmitted via breast milk, so it is safest not to take it. It is not recommended for pediatric patients as safety and efficacy have not been adequately established. For elderly patients, dosage adjustment is required, and care should be taken regarding the occurrence of side effects. In case of overdose, hypotension, dizziness, and in severe cases, shock may occur; immediate medical attention is necessary to receive appropriate treatment. This medication should be stored out of reach of children and should be taken immediately after opening the package.

Hives, severe swelling, chest tightness, difficulty breathing, cold sweat, pallor, severe allergic reactions, severe rash accompanied by high fever, blisters, skin peeling, pain in mucous membranes of mouth/eyes, severe skin adverse reactions, difficulty or shortness of breath, asthma attacks, respiratory abnormalities accompanied by cough and fever, respiratory problems, jaundice, extreme lethargy, liver anomalies (jaundice), sudden and severe headache.

Dizziness, peripheral edema, upper respiratory tract infection, urinary tract infection, cystitis, anemia, hyperkalemia, hypoglycemia, hyponatremia, hyperglycemia, depression, insomnia, anxiety, confusion, drowsiness, migraine, paresthesia, tremor, visual disturbances, vertigo, tinnitus, palpitations, bradycardia, tachycardia, flushing, hypotension, orthostatic hypotension, cough, rhinitis, changes in bowel habits (including diarrhea and constipation), abdominal pain, dyspepsia, nausea, vomiting, dry mouth, gum
