Improvement of Alzheimer's disease symptoms
This medication is used to treat symptoms of Alzheimer's disease. It helps improve memory decline and cognitive function to facilitate daily activities. Regular use may help slow the progression of symptoms and improve quality of life.
As donepezil hydrochloride, administer 5 mg once daily before bedtime. For the first 4 to 6 weeks, administer the 5 mg dose, and after evaluating the clinical response, it can be increased to 10 mg. When increasing the dose to 10 mg per day, caution should be exercised concerning gastrointestinal adverse reactions. Underweight elderly women should not exceed 5 mg per day.
There is no experience of use in pediatrics.
This medication contains the ingredient donepezil and is used for the treatment of symptoms of Alzheimer's disease. First, this medication should not be used in certain patients. Individuals with an allergy to donepezil or any other ingredients in this medication, pregnant women or women who may become pregnant, nursing women, and patients with lactose intolerance or genetic lactose-related disorders should not take this medication. In addition, patients with heart disease or conduction disorders, those taking non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs or with a history of peptic ulcers, asthma or obstructive pulmonary disease history, and those with extrapyramidal disorders such as Parkinson's disease should exercise special caution when using this medication. This medication may cause various side effects, including cardiac issues (e.g., bradycardia, heart block), gastrointestinal issues (e.g., gastric ulcers, gastrointestinal bleeding), liver function anomalies, neurological issues (e.g., seizures, movement disorders), shortness of breath, acute pancreatitis, acute renal failure, and sudden death. Common side effects may include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, loss of appetite, dizziness, insomnia, hallucinations, anxiety, myalgia, rashes, etc. If any of these symptoms occur, immediate consultation with a healthcare professional is necessary. This medication may affect cardiac conduction, so patients with heart disease may need to undergo regular ECG examinations. This medication may interact with other drugs. Special caution is needed when taken with drugs that inhibit or induce enzymes responsible for drug metabolism in the liver (CYP3A4, CYP2D6). Also, combining this medication with muscle relaxants or cholinergic drugs may enhance effects, while co-administration with anticholinergic drugs may reduce the effectiveness of this medication. Pregnant or nursing women are advised not to use this medication, and if absolutely necessary, should consult a healthcare professional. Safety in children has not been established, so this medication should not be used in pediatric patients. In case of overdose, severe symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, bradycardia, respiratory depression may appear, and immediate emergency treatment is required. Atropine may be used as an antidote. This medication may affect driving or machinery operation abilities, so caution is required during the initial treatment period or when doses are adjusted. Finally, this medication should be stored out of the reach of children, and transferring it to another container is not recommended as it may affect product quality.

This medication should be stored in a tightly sealed container to prevent air or moisture from entering. The suitable storage temperature is between 1 degree and 30 degrees Celsius at room temperature. Avoid storing in excessively hot or cold places.
