How to take

Adult dose

In adults, initiate treatment with 25mg of naftopidil once daily. If the effect is insufficient, gradually increase the dose to 50~75mg at intervals of 1~2 weeks, and administer orally once daily after a meal. The dose may be adjusted according to symptoms; however, the maximum daily dose is 75mg.

Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients who have had allergic reactions to its ingredients. Additionally, this medication contains lactose, so individuals with genetic disorders that prevent lactose digestion should not take it. Patients with poor liver function should be cautious as the blood concentration of this medication may increase. There is insufficient experience in administering this medication to patients with serious heart disease or cerebrovascular disease, so it should be given with caution. Elderly individuals may have decreased liver function, causing delayed excretion of this medication, necessitating caution. Taking this medication along with other drugs that lower blood pressure may lead to excessively low blood pressure, so consultation with a physician is necessary. Patients with orthostatic hypotension, meaning that their blood pressure drops sharply when standing up, should also be cautious. Taking this medication may cause side effects such as dizziness, vertigo, hypotension, and gastrointestinal discomfort, and any unusual symptoms should be reported immediately. In particular, serious side effects such as fainting due to liver dysfunction or severe blood pressure drops can occur, so if symptoms appear, the medication should be stopped immediately and medical attention sought. Overdose of this medication can lead to excessively low blood pressure, so the prescribed dosage must be strictly followed. Dizziness or orthostatic hypotension may occur at the initial stages of taking this medication, so avoid dangerous activities such as working at heights or driving. Ensure to check whether you are currently taking blood pressure lowering medications before taking this medication and be attentive to blood pressure changes. This medication is a symptomatic relief treatment, and if it is ineffective, other treatment methods such as surgery should be considered. If you are currently on diuretics or blood pressure lowering agents, there may be a need to adjust the dose as taking this medication may cause further lowering of blood pressure. Elderly individuals are at a higher risk of decreased liver function, so careful monitoring is required during use. This medication should be kept out of reach of children and taken directly out of its packaging. Taking it without unwrapping may cause serious side effects such as esophageal obstruction, so caution is necessary.
