The usual dosage for this medication is 50 mg of Losartan Potassium and 12.5 mg of Hydrochlorothiazide, taken once daily as one tablet. A dose exceeding 100 mg of Losartan Potassium and 25 mg of Hydrochlorothiazide per day is not recommended. For patients whose blood pressure is not controlled with monotherapy of Losartan or Hydrochlorothiazide: Start with 50 mg of Losartan Potassium and 12.5 mg of Hydrochlorothiazide once daily.
Children's dosage
There is no experience in pediatric and adolescent (under 18 years) use, and it is not administered to them.

This medicine is used for patients with hypertension whose blood pressure is not sufficiently controlled with monotherapy. In other words, it helps effectively manage blood pressure by adding this medication when other drugs are insufficient for blood pressure control. It helps to lower blood pressure steadily and reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases. It is recommended to take it as prescribed for safe and effective blood pressure reduction. This medicine is used for treating hypertension.

Dosage and Administration

Adult dosage

The usual dosage for this medication is 50 mg of Losartan Potassium and 12.5 mg of Hydrochlorothiazide, taken once daily as one tablet. A dose exceeding 100 mg of Losartan Potassium and 25 mg of Hydrochlorothiazide per day is not recommended. For patients whose blood pressure is not controlled with monotherapy of Losartan or Hydrochlorothiazide: Start with 50 mg of Losartan Potassium and 12.5 mg of Hydrochlorothiazide once daily.

Children's dosage

There is no experience in pediatric and adolescent (under 18 years) use, and it is not administered to them.

Precautions

This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus if taken during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters, so it should be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. It should not be used in patients with allergies to this drug or its components, anuria, severe liver or kidney impairment, and certain electrolyte abnormalities. Patients with hypotension or renal vascular issues, patients with poor liver function, hyperuricemia or gout patients, and the elderly should use this drug with caution. This medication can affect potassium levels in the blood, so it is best not to take it with potassium supplements or medications containing potassium. During treatment, blood pressure, kidney function, electrolyte levels, etc., should be regularly monitored for abnormalities. This drug can cause photosensitivity; thus, it is necessary to avoid excessive sun exposure, and if any skin abnormalities occur, consult a doctor immediately. Dizziness or drowsiness may occur, so caution is needed when driving or operating machinery. This medication may interact with certain drugs, so if taking other medications, be sure to inform the doctor or pharmacist. The safety of this medication has not been established in pediatric and adolescent patients under 18 years old, therefore it should not be used in these populations. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should consult their healthcare provider before taking this medication, and those who are breastfeeding are advised to either discontinue breastfeeding or stop taking the medication. If any abnormal symptoms occur after taking this medication, consult a doctor immediately, and store the medication out of reach of children and in its original container.

Hives, severe swelling (edema), angioedema (swelling of lips and eyelids and facial rash), angioedema (swelling of the larynx/glottis which can cause airway obstruction, swelling of the face/lips/pharynx/tongue), severe allergic reaction, rash, skin exfoliation, hemolysis, chest pain, facial swelling, syncope, angina, arrhythmia, cerebrovascular accident, hypotension, myocardial infarction, secondary AV block, thrombocytopenia, acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS)

Mild side effects

Abdominal pain, swelling/edema, palpitations, low back pain, dizziness, cough, sinusitis, upper respiratory infection, weakness/fatigue, diarrhea, nausea, headache, bronchitis, pharyngitis, chest pain, facial swelling, fever, orthostatic hypotension, syncope, angina, arrhythmia (atrial fibrillation, sinus bradycardia, tachycardia, ventricular tachycardia, ventricular fibrillation), hypotension, myocardial infarction, secondary AV block, loss of appetite, constipation, toothache, dry mouth, indigestion, flatulence, gastritis, vomiting, malaise,

Storage

This medicine is sensitive to light, so it should be stored in a container that does not allow light to pass through. Additionally, it is best to store the drug at room temperature between 1°C and 30°C to maintain its effectiveness for as long as possible.
