How to take

Adult dose

This medication can be taken regardless of meals, but it is recommended to take it at the same time every day. The initial and maintenance dose for adults with hypertension is recommended to be 50 mg taken orally once daily. If the therapeutic effect is insufficient, the dose can be increased to 100 mg once daily or divided into two doses daily. For treatment of kidney disease in patients with hypertension and type 2 diabetes, the usual dose is 50 mg once daily, which may be adjusted to 100 mg once daily depending on blood pressure.

Precautions

This medicine may cause serious harm to the fetus if taken during pregnancy, especially in the 2nd and 3rd trimesters. Therefore, women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should not take this medication. If pregnancy is confirmed, this medication should be stopped immediately. This medication should not be given to patients with certain conditions, such as severe liver impairment or a history of hereditary angioedema, and to patients with specific genetic lactose intolerance. Additionally, caution should be exercised when combining this medication with other drugs in patients with diabetes or moderate to severe kidney impairment. This medication should be used cautiously in certain patients, such as the elderly, those with hyperkalemia, patients with mild to moderate liver impairment, and those with heart valve disease, as there is a risk of excessively low blood pressure or worsening kidney function. Their condition should be monitored frequently. Although this medication is generally well tolerated, rare adverse reactions such as angioedema, liver function abnormalities, myalgia, and hyperkalemia may occur; so any unusual symptoms should be discussed with a healthcare provider immediately. It is important to regularly check blood pressure, kidney function, and electrolyte levels during use to confirm normality. This medication may dangerously increase blood potassium levels if taken with potassium-sparing diuretics or potassium supplements, so caution should be taken to avoid such combinations. When used with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, the blood pressure-lowering effect may be reduced or kidney function may deteriorate, so careful monitoring is necessary. It is advisable for pregnant or breastfeeding women to refrain from taking this medication, and if breastfeeding, to consider stopping breastfeeding or alternative treatments. This medication has not been established as safe and effective in children, particularly those under 6 years old or with significantly reduced kidney function. During treatment, caution should be exercised with tasks that require alertness, such as operating machinery or driving, as dizziness or drowsiness may occur. In case of overdose, hypotension and cardiac arrhythmias may occur, so it's important to adhere strictly to the prescribed dosage and to seek medical attention immediately if unusual symptoms arise. Lastly, this medication should be stored out of reach of children, and not transferred to other containers for safety.
