This medication is used to prevent and treat folic acid deficiency. It is helpful for those who have increased requirements for folic acid and find it difficult to obtain enough from diet alone, such as in the case of wasting diseases, pregnant women, and nursing mothers. It is also effective for various types of anemia related to folic acid deficiency or metabolic disorders, particularly nutritional deficiency anemia, pregnancy-related anemia, childhood anemia, and anemia due to anticonvulsant use. It is also used for the treatment of megaloblastic anemia related to alcoholism or liver disease. This product has a positive effect on the prevention and treatment of various anemias.

How to take

Adult dose

(Tablets) For treatment of folic acid deficiency or deficiencies caused by other medications, take 0.25 – 1 mg daily. For prevention of folic acid deficiency and in various diseases with increased folic acid requirements, take 0.1 – 0.25 mg daily. (Capsules) For treatment of folic acid deficiency or deficiencies caused by other medications, take 1 mg daily.

This medication should not be taken by individuals who have an allergic reaction to this medication or any ingredients contained in it. Patients with certain anemias caused by vitamin B12 deficiency should also not take this medication. In particular, patients with pernicious anemia may not see improvement in neurological symptoms with this medication alone, so it should be taken alongside vitamin B12 preparations. If you experience allergic symptoms such as skin rash, itching, or difficulty breathing while taking this medication, you should stop immediately and consult a healthcare professional. Also, you should discontinue use and seek consultation if you experience symptoms such as loss of appetite, nausea, edema, weight loss, or central nervous system symptoms (e.g., changes in sleep, lack of concentration, irritability, depression, etc.). This medication should be taken according to the prescribed dosage and regimen, and when administering to children, it should be under the supervision of a guardian. If symptoms do not improve or worsen after taking for more than one month, you should definitely consult a healthcare professional. When storing, keep it out of reach of children, avoid direct sunlight, and store in a sealed container in a cool, dry place.
