This medication is used to treat symptoms such as intermittent claudication caused by peripheral arterial circulation disorders. It can also improve dizziness and vascular or degenerative tinnitus (ringing in the ears). Additionally, it is effective in treating brain dysfunctions associated with symptoms of dementia, such as tinnitus, headaches, memory decline, concentration difficulties, depressive feelings, and dizziness. This medication is used to comprehensively treat various cerebrovascular and nervous system-related symptoms.

How to take

Adult dose

1) Peripheral arterial circulation disorders, dizziness, tinnitus (ringing in the ears): take 40 mg of Ginkgo Leaf Extract orally three times a day or 80 mg twice a day. 2) Organic brain dysfunction: take 40–80 mg of Ginkgo Leaf Extract orally three times a day or 120 mg twice a day. Adjust dosage according to age and symptoms.

Precautions

This medication should be avoided by certain individuals. First, those who have experienced allergic reactions to this medication should not use it. Furthermore, it is recommended not to use this medication in children under 12 years of age due to a lack of sufficient usage experience. Pregnant women are also advised against taking this medication, as there is insufficient data regarding its use during pregnancy despite no malformations observed in animal experiments. This medication contains lactose, so those with galactose intolerance, Lapp lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption should not take this medication. Additionally, breastfeeding women should consult with a specialist before using this medication due to insufficient information on whether it is passed into breast milk. If symptoms do not improve after taking it for more than 3 months or worsen, it is necessary to stop taking and receive a specialist's diagnosis. Mild gastrointestinal discomfort, headaches, and allergic skin reactions may occur during the course of treatment, and dizziness or itching has been reported rarely. Severe allergic reactions like anaphylaxis may occur, so if abnormal symptoms appear, immediate consultation with healthcare personnel is required. This medication is not a treatment for hypertension, so it is safe not to use for patients requiring specific antihypertensive treatment. Lastly, this medication should be kept out of the reach of children and stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
