Precautions

This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus if taken during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy; therefore, it must be discontinued immediately if pregnancy is confirmed. It should not be taken by patients with allergies to the ingredients or similar class of drugs, those with severe renal or liver disease, or by pregnant or nursing women. Patients with sodium or fluid depletion should improve their condition before taking this medication, and those who experience hypotension should receive immediate appropriate care. Patients with high blood potassium levels or those taking potassium supplements or potassium-sparing diuretics should have their potassium levels monitored frequently. Patients with vascular issues or those who have received a kidney transplant need to be especially cautious when taking this medication, and if symptoms of angioedema occur, it should be discontinued immediately. Patients with heart failure or after myocardial infarction should closely monitor changes in kidney function while taking this medication, as should patients with acute myocardial infarction. Patients with aortic stenosis or hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy should also take special care when using this medication. Taking this medication in conjunction with other renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system drugs may increase risks of hypotension, worsening renal function, and hyperkalemia, so co-administration should be avoided or carried out with caution. Dizziness or fatigue may occur while driving or operating machinery; caution is required. In cases of overdose, severe hypotension and reflex tachycardia may occur, requiring immediate treatment at a hospital. This medication has not been sufficiently studied for safety and efficacy in patients under 18 years of age, so it is not recommended for use in this age group. In elderly patients, it can be administered at normal doses, but careful observation of their physical condition is needed.
