Treatment of symptoms of erectile dysfunction, benign prostatic hyperplasia, or both conditions when they occur together
This medication is used to treat erectile dysfunction in men and requires sexual stimulation to be effective. It also helps to improve symptoms and signs associated with benign prostatic hyperplasia. It is particularly useful for alleviating symptoms in men who experience both erectile dysfunction and benign prostatic hyperplasia. However, this medication is not suitable for women. This medication is used to treat erectile dysfunction and benign prostatic hyperplasia; therefore, it is essential to consult a healthcare professional before taking it to assess health conditions, including cardiovascular status. Sexual activity may impose stress on the heart, so those with cardiovascular disease should be especially cautious, and if symptoms related to the heart occur during sexual activity, discontinue immediately and inform a doctor. If an erection lasts longer than 4 hours or is accompanied by pain, seek medical assistance promptly, as failure to receive appropriate treatment may result in penile tissue damage or loss of erectile function. Taking this drug with nitrates or medications containing nitrates can pose a risk of dangerously low blood pressure, so inform your doctor if you are taking these drugs, and do not combine them while on this medication. Patients who have recently experienced cardiovascular diseases such as myocardial infarction, angina, or stroke, or those with uncontrolled hypertension or hypotension should not take this medication. Those with genetic retinal diseases or hypersensitivity to any ingredients of this medication, or who plan to take it with other erectile dysfunction treatments, should also refrain from its use. Patients with specific health conditions such as penile deformities or blood disorders should use this medication cautiously, and dosage adjustments and careful administration are needed for patients with kidney or liver function issues. When taken with alpha-blockers or antihypertensive agents, the blood pressure-lowering effect may increase, so consult a physician for appropriate dosage adjustments. This medication may cause various side effects, with headaches, dyspepsia, back pain, muscle pain, flushing, and limb pain occurring frequently. Serious side effects such as cardiovascular abnormalities, vision and hearing loss, and priapism have been reported; if any unusual symptoms occur, consult a healthcare professional immediately. Do not use in pregnant or breastfeeding women, or in children; while it does not fundamentally affect driving or machinery operation, individual cases may experience dizziness, hence caution is necessary. In case of overdose, immediate medical intervention is required, and it is difficult to remove this medication via dialysis. Store in a tightly sealed container, out of reach of children, and maintain its original packaging to ensure safety.
