Vitamin D is essential during pregnancy, breastfeeding, childhood growth periods, and old age. At these times, it particularly helps with the healthy development of bones and teeth and is important for preventing rickets that can occur due to vitamin D deficiency. Therefore, this medication containing vitamin D is used to improve deficiencies in bone and dental development and to prevent rickets.

How to take

Adult dose

Adults take 1 tablet once daily.

Child dose

Children aged 8 years and older take 1 tablet once daily.

Precautions

This medication should not be administered to patients with hypercalcemia, patients with sarcoidosis, unknown systemic inflammatory diseases, patients with kidney diseases, or patients with allergies or hypersensitivity to this medication or its components, infants under 12 months of age, kidney stone patients, and patients with severe renal failure symptoms. During the use of this medication, it should not be taken concurrently with phosphates, calcium salts, oral tetracycline drugs, antacids, etc. Infants under 1 year of age, patients receiving medical treatment, children who receive plenty of sunlight and normal meals, pregnant or breastfeeding women, premature infants, and infants must consult a physician or pharmacist before taking this medication. Particularly, pregnant or breastfeeding women should be cautious, as vitamin D can be transferred to breast milk, leading to hypercalcemia in newborns. Patients with heart or circulatory problems, kidney disorders, hypoalbuminemia, those taking heart medications, and those with a history of kidney stones should also consult with a healthcare provider before use. This medication contains a dye called Yellow 203, and those allergic to this component should use it cautiously. If symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, low blood pressure, flushing, irregular heartbeat, or skin rash occur during use, stop taking the medication immediately and consult a physician or pharmacist. Overdose can lead to gastrointestinal disturbances, elevated sodium levels in the blood, heart failure, and edema, so caution is necessary. Prolonged use can cause hypercalcemia or stone disease, thus regular monitoring of status is required. Care should be taken especially if used with certain diuretics, as potassium levels in the blood may increase. If the medication is taken incorrectly or symptoms do not improve after a month of use, consult a professional immediately. This medication must be taken according to the prescribed dosage and administration, and parental supervision is needed when administered to children. It is advisable to avoid tea containing tannins, such as green tea or black tea, before and after taking this medication. Store in a place out of reach of children, avoid direct sunlight, and keep in a cool, dry, and airtight place to prevent moisture.
