Adult dose

The recommended dosage of this medication is 1 tablet once daily, to be taken with water regardless of meals. It is recommended to take it at the same time every day (e.g., in the morning). For patients with severe renal impairment, treatment should be started at a lower dose and gradually increased. In the case of liver impairment, the daily dosage of telmisartan should not exceed 40 mg. Elderly patients (75 years and older) should start treatment at a lower dose.

Child dose

Safety and efficacy have not been established for pediatric patients under 18 years of age; therefore, the use of this medication is not recommended.

This medication should not be used during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters, as it can pose severe risks to the fetus. Administration is contraindicated in patients with a known allergy to this medication or similar medications, pregnant women, nursing mothers, and patients with serious liver or heart problems. Patients with impaired liver function, gastrointestinal diseases, reduced kidney function, elderly patients, etc., should use this medication with caution and consult with healthcare professionals. Since this medication lowers blood pressure, patients with hypotension should check their condition carefully before use, and if symptoms of hypotension occur, appropriate measures should be taken. There may be an increase in serum potassium levels, so caution is needed when taking with potassium-rich foods or other medications. This medication can interact with various drugs, so if you are taking other medications, be sure to inform your doctor or pharmacist. Common side effects such as dizziness, edema, headache may occur, and in severe cases, immediate consultation with medical personnel is required. Women who are pregnant or planning to become pregnant must consult with a healthcare professional before starting this medication, and if pregnancy is confirmed, it should be discontinued immediately. The safety and efficacy of this medication in children have not been established; therefore, it is not recommended for use in children. In case of overdose, severe hypotension or cardiac problems may occur, and immediate emergency treatment is required. This medication should be kept out of reach of children, and it is recommended to avoid transferring it to other containers.

Serious side effects

• Hives, severe swelling (angioedema), tightness in the chest, difficulty breathing, cold sweat, pallor, severe allergic reactions.
• Severe rash with high fever, blisters, skin peeling, pain in mucous membranes of the mouth/eyes, severe dermatological reactions.
• Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, asthma attack, respiratory problems accompanied by cough and fever.
• Yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice), profound lethargy, liver dysfunction (jaundice).
• Sudden and severe headache.

Mild side effects

Dizziness, peripheral edema, fainting, drowsiness, headache, abnormal sensation, visual disturbances, palpitations, bradycardia, tachycardia, flushing, hypotension, cough, changes in bowel habits (including diarrhea and constipation), abdominal pain, indigestion, nausea, vomiting, dry mouth, itching, rash, hair loss, purpura, skin discoloration, sweating, eczema, erythema, joint swelling, muscle cramps, arthralgia, myalgia, low back pain, limb pain, tendon pain, renal dysfunction, urinary disorders, polyuria.

This medication is sensitive to light, so it should be stored in a tightly sealed container that can block light. Additionally, it is important to store it at room temperature between 1 to 30 degrees Celsius to maintain its effectiveness.
