Precautions

This medication may cause a serious lung disease called interstitial pneumonia; therefore, if fever, cough, shortness of breath, abnormal sounds from the lungs, or abnormalities are found in chest X-ray tests occur during use, discontinue use immediately and consult a healthcare professional. Patients using interferon preparations, those with cirrhosis, liver cancer or patients with very low platelet counts due to chronic hepatitis should not take this medication. This medication should not be taken in conjunction with interferon preparations due to the increased risk of interstitial pneumonia. Patients with hypertension, heart or kidney diseases, those with edema, patients taking other medications, the elderly, pregnant women or those who may become pregnant, children, individuals with severe weakness, those with hepatic dysfunction due to chronic hepatitis, liver disease patients, and individuals who have previously experienced allergic reactions such as rash or itching due to medication should consult a healthcare professional before taking this medication. If symptoms such as decreased urine output, facial or limb swelling, increased blood pressure, headache, muscle weakness or pain, loss of appetite, nausea, abdominal pain, diarrhea, rash, itching, or shortness of breath occur during treatment, discontinue use immediately and consult with medical personnel. This medication is generally not intended for long-term use, and the prescribed dosage and administration must be strictly followed during use. When taken with potassium-containing preparations or medications containing licorice, and diuretics, caution should be taken as there is an increased risk of hypokalemia or myopathy. Care should be taken regarding overlapping components when taking this medication with other herbal medicines, and chronic hepatitis patients should carefully monitor changes in platelet counts. This medication should be stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, and kept in a safe place out of the reach of children. Medicines should be stored in their original containers, as transferring them to other containers may lead to misuse or deterioration of quality.

  • Fever, cough, shortness of breath due to interstitial pneumonia, liver dysfunction and jaundice (yellow discoloration of the skin or the whites of the eyes, general lethargy)
  • Headache, increased blood pressure, swelling (swelling of the face and limbs), myopathy due to hypokalemia (muscle disease), symptoms of rhabdomyolysis (including paralysis)
