This medication is effectively used for infections caused by the herpes simplex virus, particularly for initial and recurrent genital herpes and orolabial herpes. It helps relieve blisters and pain caused by the infection, improving symptoms. It contributes to the patient’s rapid recovery and prevention of recurrences.

How to use

Adult use

This medication is applied to the affected area (diseased area) 5 times a day at approximately 4-hour intervals. Treatment should continue for 5 days, and if not treated after 5 days, it can be used for an additional 5 days.

Precautions

This medication should not be used by patients who are allergic to this medication or its ingredients, or who have a chemical intolerance. Additionally, it is safe not to administer it to nursing women and children. Caution is necessary when used by immunocompromised patients, such as those with AIDS or who have undergone a bone marrow transplant, and those who are allergic to propylene glycol, which is an ingredient in this medication. When using this medication, discomfort or pain may occur upon pressure if there are ulcers in the genital area. Temporary burning or stinging pain, dermatitis, red spots, eczema, itching, swelling, skin discoloration, hives, and blister-like skin reactions may occur, so caution is advised. Treatment should begin as soon as possible when symptoms first appear, and the prescribed dosage and amount must be strictly followed. This medication should not be used by asymptomatic individuals or for preventing transmission to others. This medication should not be mixed with other medications or diluted. Women who are pregnant or potentially pregnant must consult a doctor before using this medication, and it is safe not to breastfeed during use. Safety and efficacy have not been sufficiently confirmed for pediatric patients, so usage should be avoided. This medication is for topical application only and should not be used on mucous membranes such as the eyes, mouth, or vagina. It is recommended to wear gloves or rubber gloves to prevent the medication from spreading to other areas or being transmitted to others.
