(Hypertension, heart failure) improvement and (hypercholesterolemia, cardiovascular disease risk) reduction effect
This medication is used for patients who require the simultaneous administration of two drugs, Candesartan Cilexetil and Rosuvastatin. First, Candesartan Cilexetil is mainly indicated for patients with essential hypertension and heart failure with reduced left ventricular function, particularly in cases where ACE inhibitor treatment is insufficient or not well tolerated. Meanwhile, Rosuvastatin helps improve cholesterol levels in patients with hypercholesterolemia and mixed dyslipidemia in conjunction with a dietary regimen. Additionally, it plays an adjunctive role in the treatment of patients with homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia or dysbetalipoproteinemia and is used to lower the risk of stroke, myocardial infarction, etc., in high-risk cardiovascular disease patients. By taking these two medications together, effective management of blood pressure and blood lipids is achieved, thus improving cardiovascular health.
For essential hypertension, the initial and maintenance dose is to administer 8-16 mg of Candesartan Cilexetil orally once daily. After 4 weeks of treatment at 16 mg, if blood pressure control is inadequate, it can be increased to a maximum of 32 mg. For heart failure, the initial dose is 4 mg once daily, with doubling of the dose after intervals of more than 2 weeks, up to a maximum of 32 mg. Rosuvastatin is to be taken regardless of meals.
