(Hypertension, heart failure) improvement and (hypercholesterolemia, cardiovascular disease risk) inhibition
This medication is used for patients who need to take candesartan cilexetil and rosuvastatin simultaneously. Candesartan cilexetil is mainly used as additional or alternative therapy for patients with essential hypertension and heart failure with left ventricular dysfunction. Rosuvastatin is used as an adjunct to diet for patients with dyslipidemia such as hypercholesterolemia and mixed dyslipidemia, and is also helpful for patients with homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia. Additionally, it lowers blood cholesterol and LDL-cholesterol levels, delaying the progression of atherosclerosis, and is used in patients with primary dysbetalipoproteinemia. Moreover, it helps reduce the risk of stroke, myocardial infarction, and revascularization in high-risk cardiovascular disease patients with elevated high-sensitivity C-reactive protein levels. Therefore, this medication is used for the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular disease through blood pressure control and dyslipidemia improvement.
Candesartan cilexetil - Essential hypertension: The initial and maintenance dose is recommended as 8–16 mg orally once daily, and if blood pressure is not controlled after 4 weeks of 16 mg treatment, it may be increased up to a maximum of 32 mg. - Heart failure: The initial dose is recommended as 4 mg orally once daily, and the dose may be doubled at intervals of more than 2 weeks up to a maximum of 32 mg. Rosuvastatin - Primary hypercholesterolemia, etc.: The initial dose is 5 mg once daily.
