How to take

Adult dose

Adults: Take 1 tablet (30,000 IU as cholecalciferol) once a month.

Precautions

This medication should not be used by individuals allergic to its components. Taking this medication can be harmful for those with excessive vitamin D levels. Patients with kidney stones or diseases causing calcification in the kidneys should avoid this medication. Individuals with elevated blood calcium levels or high urinary calcium excretion should not use this drug. Those with abnormally high calcium levels due to specific diseases or conditions should refrain from taking this medication. Patients with severely impaired kidney function should not use this medication as it may not work effectively. Individuals who cannot digest certain sugars for genetic reasons should avoid taking this medication. Patients with weak kidney function should use this medication cautiously, with frequent monitoring of blood and urine calcium levels. Individuals with certain inflammatory diseases such as sarcoidosis should also use this medication carefully. Rarely, side effects like skin rashes, itching, or hives may occur when taking this medication. Blood calcium levels may become too high, so regular monitoring is necessary. This medication requires special caution for those with impaired kidney function, with frequent checks on calcium and phosphate levels. Pregnant women taking this medication should monitor fetal calcium and phosphate levels, as some infants may be more sensitive to vitamin D. Patients with conditions where vitamin D metabolism is altered should also use this medication cautiously. If serum calcium levels are elevated, primary hyperparathyroidism may be suspected, thus periodic testing is necessary. When starting this medication, blood calcium levels should be checked weekly at first and then every 2-4 weeks to determine the appropriate dosage.
