Precautions

Since this medication is an ampoule injection, glass fragments may mix into the solution when cutting the container. If glass fragments enter the body, side effects may occur; therefore, care must be taken when cutting the container, especially if used by children or the elderly. This medication contains components extracted from human placenta. While infection checks are conducted during the collection of the placenta and measures are taken during manufacturing to prevent infection transmission, the risk of infection cannot be completely eliminated. Thus, this medication should only be used minimally when absolutely necessary. This medication contains benzyl alcohol, which can cause fatal respiratory problems in premature infants; therefore, it should not be used in newborns or preterm infants. Patients with allergies to this medication or similar medications, those with severe complications other than heart, liver, and kidney issues, or those with psychosomatic disorders, as well as newborns and preterm infants, should not use this medication. Patients with allergic constitutions should exercise greater caution when using this medication. Shock may occur after administering this medication, so if severe symptoms suddenly appear, the administration must be stopped immediately and appropriate treatment should be given. Additionally, if chills, nausea, fever, or skin rashes occur, the medication should be discontinued, and pain or redness may develop at the injection site. Rarely, breast pain or gynecomastia may occur, in which case administration should be stopped. Before using this medication, it is essential to sufficiently explain to the patient that it contains ingredients derived from human placenta, which carries a risk of infection that cannot be completely ruled out. When administering by subcutaneous injection, care must be taken to avoid nerves in the vicinity of the injection site, and repeating injections in the same area should be avoided while alternating between the left and right sides is advisable. If there is severe pain during injection or blood refluxes, the needle must be withdrawn immediately, and the injection should be performed in another area; this medication should only be used for subcutaneous injection.
