View approved original text

This medication is used to effectively lower blood pressure in patients with essential hypertension whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with amlodipine or valsartan monotherapy.

How to take

Adult dose

The recommended dose for this medication is 1 tablet once daily, taken with water regardless of meals. It is recommended to take it at the same time every day (e.g., in the morning). For patients with mild and moderate renal impairment (creatinine clearance greater than 10 mL/min), no dose adjustment is necessary, but it should not be administered to patients with severe renal impairment or dialysis patients. For patients with hepatic impairment, the daily dose of valsartan should not exceed 80 mg.

Child dose

The safety and efficacy of this medication in patients under 18 years of age have not been established, so its use is not recommended.

Precautions

This medication may cause serious harm to the fetus if taken during the second or third trimester of pregnancy, so it should be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. It should not be administered to women who are hypersensitive to its ingredients, pregnant, or breastfeeding, or to patients with severe renal or hepatic dysfunction. For patients with low sodium or fluid levels, hypotension may occur, so it is essential to check their condition before administration and to monitor blood pressure changes closely during treatment. For patients with high potassium levels or taking potassium supplements or potassium-sparing diuretics, potassium levels should be frequently monitored. The use of this medication is not recommended for patients with renal artery stenosis or those recently received a kidney transplant, and administration should be stopped immediately if symptoms of angioedema occur. In patients with heart failure or after myocardial infarction, renal function and blood pressure should be evaluated periodically, and attention should be paid to side effects such as hypotension or pulmonary edema. This medication may cause dizziness or fatigue when driving or operating machinery, so caution is required. There may be drug interactions, especially with potassium supplements, diuretics, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, lithium preparations, etc., so consultation with a physician or pharmacist is advised when used in combination, and frequent blood pressure and blood tests should be performed. In case of overdose, symptoms such as hypotension, dizziness, or reflex tachycardia may occur, so immediate medical attention should be sought. This medication is not recommended for patients under 18 years of age due to insufficient evidence of safety and efficacy. Elderly patients may use the same dose as adults, but careful monitoring is necessary.
