This medication is used for degenerative joint diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis, as well as ankylosing spondylitis. It is also effective for inflammation and pain following trauma or surgery, acute gout, and renal and hepatic colic. This medication helps alleviate various kinds of inflammation and pain to improve patients' quality of life.
As diclofenac beta-dimethylaminoethanol, 90mg is deeply injected into one side of the upper part of the buttock once daily. In severe cases, 90mg may be administered twice daily, alternating between both sides of the buttock for each injection. After the initial treatment phase, it is switched to oral tablets or suppositories. Adjust the dosage appropriately based on age, condition, and symptoms. To minimize cardiovascular adverse reactions, use the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration.
Patients who regularly consume more than three alcoholic beverages a day should consult with a doctor or pharmacist before taking this medication, as it increases the risk of gastrointestinal bleeding. This medication may increase the risk of cardiovascular disease, so caution is especially needed for patients with a history or risk factors for heart disease or stroke. As a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug, this medication can cause serious gastrointestinal side effects such as gastrointestinal bleeding, ulcers, and perforation, and the risk is higher in the elderly. Severe allergic reactions that could induce myocardial infarction may occur, so if symptoms like chest pain arise, medical attention should be sought immediately. Care should be taken to avoid glass fragments when using ampoule injections, especially when administering them to children or the elderly. Patients with specific conditions such as peptic ulcers, severe blood disorders, liver impairment, kidney impairment, hypertension, and heart failure should not take this medication. Those with a history of peptic ulcers, asthma, the elderly, etc., should use this medication with caution and be prepared for potential allergic reactions or other side effects. This medication can rarely lead to various side effects such as severe shock, gastrointestinal bleeding, blood disorders, skin adverse reactions, liver impairment, kidney impairment, and psychiatric symptoms, and should be discontinued immediately if any unusual symptoms occur, and medical consultation should be sought. Use the minimum effective dose for the shortest duration possible during treatment, and regular blood tests and liver and kidney function tests are needed for long-term use. This medication should not be used together with other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and may interact with several other medications, so current medications should be reported to a healthcare provider. During pregnancy, especially in the late stages, it should be avoided as it may harm the fetus, and breastfeeding mothers should consult with a doctor about medication administration or cessation of breastfeeding.
