Precautions

This medication is used to treat depression; however, it is important to closely monitor patients for increased suicidal thoughts or behaviors during the initial stages of treatment or when adjusting the dose. Particularly, patients with a history of suicide attempts or suicidal thoughts require more careful observation. This medication should not be administered to patients under the age of 15, those with certain rare genetic disorders, or those taking MAO inhibitors. During treatment, various side effects such as decreased appetite, insomnia, drowsiness, dizziness, headache, palpitations, gastrointestinal disturbances, and skin rashes may occur, so symptoms should be monitored closely. Before surgery, it is essential to inform the attending physician about the use of this medication, and it should be discontinued 24 to 48 hours prior when necessary.
