This medication is used in patients with primary hypertension where blood pressure control is difficult with telmisartan alone. It effectively controls blood pressure and helps prevent cardiovascular complications.

How to take

Adult dose

For patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with telmisartan alone, take 1 tablet daily with or without food. Before switching to this fixed-dose combination medication, it is recommended to titrate each component's dose individually. In patients with mild to moderate renal impairment, dosage adjustment is not needed, while in patients with severe renal impairment (creatinine clearance <30 mL/min), this medication should not be used.

Precautions

This medication may cause serious harm to the fetus if used during pregnancy; therefore, women who are pregnant or planning to become pregnant should not take it. Patients with allergies to any of the components of this medication or with certain liver or kidney diseases should not use it. Caution is required when used in the elderly, patients with high potassium levels, or those with liver function problems, and in patients with heart disease. If new skin lesions appear while taking this medication, consult a doctor immediately and avoid sun exposure. This medication lowers blood pressure, which may cause dizziness or fainting, thus caution is advised while driving or operating machinery. This medication may affect kidney function, so patients with kidney disease should regularly check kidney function and electrolyte levels through blood tests. This medication may interact with other drugs, so inform your healthcare provider of any medications you are currently taking. Overdose may result in hypotension, electrolyte imbalance, or dehydration, requiring immediate medical attention. The safety and efficacy of this medication are not established in children and adolescents under the age of 18, so it is not recommended.

Urticaria, severe swelling (edema), chest tightness, difficulty breathing, cold sweats, paleness, severe rash with high fever, blisters, skin peeling, pain in mouth/eye mucosa, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, asthma attack, respiratory abnormalities accompanied by cough and fever, jaundice (yellowing of skin or eyes), extreme fatigue, sudden and severe headache, thunderclap headache, seizures, confusion, visual disturbances, paralysis, urine changes

Mild side effects

Bronchitis, pharyngitis, sinusitis, hypokalemia, hyperuricemia, hyponatremia, anxiety, depression, insomnia, sleep disturbances, dizziness, paresthesia, visual impairment, blurred vision, vertigo, tachycardia, arrhythmia, hypotension, orthostatic hypotension, dyspnea, respiratory pain, pneumonia, pulmonary edema, diarrhea, dry mouth, bloating, abdominal pain, constipation, indigestion, vomiting, gastritis, liver function abnormalities/liver damage, erythema, pruritus, rash,
