This medication is used for adult and pediatric patients with risk factors for cardiovascular disease. It helps reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases such as coronary heart disease, myocardial infarction, stroke, and angina, as well as aiding in recovery after vascular procedures and reducing hospitalizations due to congestive heart failure. Additionally, it effectively lowers cholesterol, LDL-cholesterol, Apo-B proteins, and triglyceride levels in patients with primary and familial hyperlipidemia, and increases HDL-cholesterol, contributing to the management of blood lipids. For these reasons, this medication is safely and effectively used as a dietary adjunct for the management of cardiovascular diseases and dyslipidemia.
