Improvement of atherosclerotic symptoms and reduction of thromboembolic risk in acute coronary syndrome and atrial fibrillation
This medication is used in certain adult patients who need to take clopidogrel and aspirin simultaneously. It helps reduce cardiovascular-related risks in patients with acute coronary syndrome, such as those with unstable angina or non-ST elevation myocardial infarction who have undergone coronary intervention or bypass surgery. It also contributes to the improvement of atherosclerotic symptoms such as mortality, myocardial infarction, stroke, or refractory ischemia due to cardiovascular anomalies. This drug is used to reduce the risk of stroke and thromboembolism in atrial fibrillation patients who have a low risk of bleeding and are unsuitable for vitamin K antagonist therapy. Therefore, it is suitable for individuals with vascular risk factors and is effective in the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular diseases.
Administer 1 capsule once daily.
This medication is designed to prevent blood clotting. However, taking this medication may prolong bleeding times, so if bleeding persists or is severe, it is essential to inform a doctor immediately. You must inform your healthcare provider that you are taking this medication before undergoing surgery or starting any new medications. Individuals with a genetic deficiency in a specific enzyme (CYP2C19) may experience reduced effectiveness of this drug, increasing the risk of cardiovascular diseases. Additionally, taking medications that enhance the activity of this enzyme may increase the risk of bleeding, so co-administration is not recommended. Regular heavy drinkers should consult with a doctor or pharmacist, as taking this medication may increase the risk of gastrointestinal bleeding. This medication should not be given to individuals with an allergy, severe liver or kidney dysfunction, bleeding disorders, or to women in late pregnancy or nursing. Patients with a history of gastrointestinal bleeding or bleeding tendencies should be closely monitored while taking this medication, as the risk of bleeding may be increased. Caution should also be exercised when administering this medication in cases of trauma, surgery, or blood disorders due to an increased risk of bleeding. This medication is not recommended for children or adolescents under 18 due to the lack of established safety and efficacy. If bleeding symptoms or adverse reactions occur during administration, immediate consultation with healthcare providers is necessary, especially in cases of skin rashes, difficulty breathing, severe headaches, or abdominal pain. The risk of bleeding may increase when taken with other medications that also have bleeding risks, so caution is advised when used in combination, especially with anticoagulants. During pregnancy, particularly in the third trimester, this medication may pose risks to the fetus and mother, so it should be used cautiously under medical supervision, and it is best avoided during breastfeeding. While taking this medication does not significantly affect the ability to drive or operate machinery, caution is necessary considering the risk of bleeding. Overdosage can significantly increase the risk of bleeding, so the prescribed dosage must be adhered to, and in cases of overdose, immediate medical attention should be sought. Store this medication out of reach of children, at room temperature, and do not transfer it to other containers.
