Used for patients with essential hypertension where blood pressure control is inadequate with monotherapy with telmisartan or amlodipine, effectively lowering blood pressure to improve hypertension.

How to take

Adult dose

The recommended dosage of this medication is 1 tablet once daily, to be taken with water regardless of meals. It is recommended to take it at the same time each day (for example, in the morning). For patients with moderate to severe renal impairment, the treatment should begin at a lower dose and be gradually increased. In patients with liver impairment, the daily dose of telmisartan should not exceed 40 mg. Elderly patients (75 years and older) should start treatment with a lower dose.

Child dose

The safety and efficacy of this medication in pediatric patients under 18 years have not been established, and its use is not recommended.

Precautions

This medication can pose serious risks to the fetus during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters, and should not be taken by women who are pregnant or may become pregnant. This medication should not be administered to patients with specific conditions, such as severe liver impairment, severe hypotension, cardiogenic shock, or patients with unstable blood flow after acute myocardial infarction. Use with caution in specific patient groups, such as those with primary aldosteronism, aortic or mitral stenosis, liver impairment, gastrointestinal diseases, renovascular hypertension, dialysis patients, and the elderly, as dosage adjustments or careful monitoring may be required. The most common side effects of this medication are dizziness and peripheral edema, and rare occurrences of fainting or serious allergic reactions may occur; any unusual symptoms should be reported to a healthcare provider immediately. The use of this medication during pregnancy can be harmful to the fetus, therefore, if pregnancy is confirmed, discontinue use immediately and seek alternative treatment; breastfeeding women are also advised not to take this medication. This medication can interact with other drugs, thus, when taken with specific medications such as digoxin, lithium, warfarin, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, etc., it is essential to inform the healthcare provider, and regular monitoring is necessary. Blood pressure may drop too low while taking this medication; if symptoms of hypotension occur, lie down immediately and seek assistance from a healthcare provider if necessary. In cases of overdose, severe hypotension, tachycardia, dizziness, and acute renal failure may occur; strictly adhere to the prescribed dosage and visit a medical institution immediately if an overdose is suspected. This medication should not be recommended for children as its safety and efficacy have not been sufficiently established, and for the elderly, careful dosage adjustments are necessary. When storing this medication, keep it out of reach of children, and take it immediately after opening; avoid transferring to other containers. Drowsiness or dizziness may occur when driving or operating dangerous machinery while taking this medication, so caution is advised.
