Treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (including erosive esophagitis), treatment and prevention of recurrence of Helicobacter pylori-positive peptic ulcers, alleviation of upper gastrointestinal symptoms related to non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, treatment/prevention of gastric and duodenal ulcers, treatment of Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, prevention of rebleeding and maintenance therapy for gastric and duodenal ulcers.
This medicine is used for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease, particularly erosive reflux esophagitis, and for long-term maintenance therapy to prevent recurrence in patients with esophagitis. It is also effective for alleviating symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease without esophagitis. It is used in the treatment and prevention of recurrence of duodenal ulcers and peptic ulcers associated with Helicobacter pylori infection, and for the short-term relief of pain and discomfort related to gastrointestinal symptoms caused by non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. It aids in the treatment and prevention of gastric ulcers in patients who require continuous use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and in the treatment of Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. It is also used to prevent rebleeding after intravenous injection due to gastric or duodenal ulcers. This medicine is used for the treatment and symptom relief of various gastrointestinal diseases.
This medicine should be swallowed with liquid such as water and not chewed or crushed. 1. Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) - Treatment of erosive reflux esophagitis: 40 mg once daily for 4 weeks. - If symptoms persist or do not improve, an additional 4-week course of treatment. - Maintenance therapy for recurrence prevention: 20 mg once daily. - Symptomatic treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease without esophagitis: 20 mg once daily.
Adolescents aged 12 and over: - Treatment of erosive reflux esophagitis: 40 mg once daily for 4 weeks. - If symptoms persist or do not improve, an additional 4-week course of treatment. - Symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease without esophagitis.
This medicine should not be taken by patients who are allergic to certain components or have experienced hypersensitivity to benzimidazoles. Patients allergic to penicillin and macrolide antibiotics should also not use this medicine. Patients taking specific medications such as terfenadine, cisapride, pimodide, astemizole, atazanavir, nelpivirine, and rilpivirine should not use this medicine. It is also safer for nursing women not to take this medicine. Patients with a history of myocardial infarction or those currently experiencing myocardial infarction should use this medicine cautiously. Patients with a history of allergy to Tartrazine should take this medicine with caution. This medicine may have various side effects, including headaches, abdominal pain, diarrhea, nausea, dizziness, skin rash, and hypomagnesemia, among others. Although rare, serious skin reactions, blood abnormalities, and liver function impairment may occur; therefore, if any abnormal symptoms arise, consult a physician immediately. Regular check-ups are required for long-term use, and caution is needed when taking other medications due to potential drug interactions. In particular, strict adherence to medical advice is necessary when taking this medicine with drugs affecting blood coagulation, antivirals, or antibiotics. The safety of this medicine during pregnancy is not fully established, so pregnant women should consult with a doctor before use. There is no specific antidote for overdose, so seek appropriate treatment at a medical facility immediately. Keep this medicine out of reach of children and do not transfer it to other containers.
Hives, severe swelling (edema), anaphylaxis reaction/shock, angioedema, severe rash with fever, blisters, skin peeling, pain of oral/ocular mucous membranes, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis (Lyell syndrome), acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis, drug reaction with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms (DRESS syndrome), difficulty breathing or shortness of breath, asthma attacks, cough accompanied by fever.

This medicine may be sensitive to air or moisture, so it must be stored in a tightly sealed container. It is recommended to store it at room temperature between 1 to 30 degrees Celsius. This will help maintain the effectiveness of the medicine.
