This medication should be swallowed with liquid such as water and should not be chewed or crushed. 1) Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD): - Treatment of erosive esophagitis: administer 40 mg once daily for 4 weeks; if not healed or symptoms persist, continue for another 4 weeks. - Long-term maintenance therapy for prevention of recurrence: administer 20 mg once daily. - Treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease symptoms without esophagitis: administer once daily.
Children's dosage
For adolescents aged 12 years and older, the same as adults applies. For the treatment of erosive esophagitis, administer 40 mg once daily for 4 weeks. For treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease symptoms without esophagitis, administer once daily.

This medication is used for the treatment and symptom relief of gastroesophageal reflux disease and erosive esophagitis, and it is also effective for long-term maintenance therapy for prevention of recurrence. Additionally, it is used in combination with antibiotics for the treatment and prevention of recurrence of duodenal and peptic ulcers caused by Helicobacter pylori infection. It also helps to alleviate upper gastrointestinal pain or discomfort that can occur when taking non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs for a short period. Long-term use in patients requiring non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs is also helpful in treating and preventing gastric and duodenal ulcers, and it is effective for treating Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. Lastly, it is used as maintenance therapy to prevent rebleeding caused by gastric or duodenal ulcers. Overall, it is widely used for the prevention and treatment of diseases related to the stomach, esophagus, and duodenum.
