Topical anesthetic effect for injection and surgical procedures, genital mucosa, and surface anesthesia for leg ulcer
This medication is used for surface anesthesia of the skin during the insertion of injection needles or superficial surgical procedures. It is also applied for surface anesthesia of genital mucosa, for example, before the removal of condyloma. Additionally, it is helpful for surface anesthesia of the area of leg ulcers during cleansing or superficial surgery. It effectively reduces pain in the skin or mucosa in a variety of situations, alleviating patient discomfort. Therefore, this drug is used for surface anesthesia of the skin and mucosa.
1. Skin: After applying this drug, cover it with a sealing tape. The seal over the application area should usually be maintained for 1-3 hours, and the effect persists for at least 1 hour after removing the sealing tape. 1) During the insertion of the injection needle (e.g., intravenous catheterization, blood sampling), apply about 2g of this drug for at least 1 hour and at most 5 hours. 2) For superficial minor surgical procedures [e.g., excision of sebaceous cysts], apply 1.5-2g/10㎠ for 1 hour. 3) For superficial major surgical procedures (e.g., ruptured skin graft), apply 1.5-2g/10㎠ for at least 2 hours and at most 5 hours. 2. Genital mucosa: During condyloma removal, apply about 10g to the treatment area for 5-10 minutes, then remove the drug and begin the procedure immediately. 3. Leg ulcers: After applying this drug, cover it with sealing tape. Use the opened tube for a single application, and discard any remaining after each procedure. Apply 1-2g/10㎠ for at least 30 minutes, ensuring not to exceed 10g per treatment. For leg ulcers in difficult-to-access tissues, the application time can be extended to 60 minutes, and the ulcer should be cleansed within 10 minutes after cream removal. No reduction in effectiveness or increase in local reactions was observed after up to 15 applications over 1-2 months. ○ Infants aged 3 months to 12 months: total amount 2g, do not exceed 16㎠ of the application area.

This drug is used as a local anesthetic, and there is a risk of a rare blood disorder called methemoglobinemia occurring during use. Patients with glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency or congenital methemoglobinemia, those with damage to the heart or lungs, infants under 6 months old, and patients exposed to oxidizing agents are more sensitive to this condition, so caution should be taken. Symptoms like a bluish discoloration of the skin or abnormal blood color may occur during the use of this drug; if these symptoms appear, the use of the medication should be stopped immediately, and treatment should be obtained. It is also safest to avoid using this drug in patients who are allergic to any of its ingredients, have wounds, mucosal damage, dermatitis, infants under 3 months, or premature infants. Caution should be exercised in patients with anemia or liver disease, frail patients, elderly patients, and those with allergies to propylene glycol. When applied to a local area, the skin may become pale, red, and swollen, and rarely symptoms like itching or burning may occur. Severe allergic reactions or symptoms like difficulty in breathing may occur, so any unusual symptoms should be reported to a healthcare provider immediately. This drug should not be used on the eyes, ears, or open wound areas; particularly, if it comes into contact with the eyes, it should be rinsed out immediately with clean water and protected. In case of overdose, central nervous system symptoms or cardiac abnormalities may arise, so careful observation is necessary, and suitable treatment should be provided if required. It is recommended to consult a physician before use if pregnant or breastfeeding, and it should be used particularly cautiously in children. When using in conjunction with other medications, it is crucial to inform a healthcare provider, as interactions may increase side effects. Lastly, it is safe to avoid prolonged high-dose use of this drug, and it is important to adhere to the recommended dosage and duration of use.
