This medication is used for patients with primary hypertension whose blood pressure is not sufficiently controlled by monotherapy with amlodipine or telmisartan. This drug effectively lowers blood pressure, reduces the risk of cardiovascular complications, and helps maintain stable blood pressure control.

How to take

Adult dose

The recommended dosage for this drug is 1 tablet once daily, to be taken with water irrespective of meals. It is recommended to take it at the same time each day (e.g., in the morning). Dosage adjustments may be necessary for 40/5mg, 80/5mg, and 40/10mg, particularly for patients with renal impairment, liver impairment, or elderly patients.

Child dose

The safety and efficacy of this drug in pediatric patients under the age of 18 have not been established, thus its use is not recommended.

Precautions

This drug should not be used during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters, as it can pose a serious risk to the fetus. If pregnancy is confirmed, use of this medication should be immediately discontinued. This drug should not be administered to patients with specific conditions. For example, it is contraindicated in those with an allergy to any component, pregnant women, nursing mothers, patients with obstructive biliary disease, severe liver dysfunction, patients with heart valve problems, patients with severe hypotension, patients in severe shock, and those with hemodynamic instability after acute myocardial infarction, among others. Additionally, patients with primary aldosteronism, liver dysfunction, active peptic ulcer disease, renal artery hypertension, dialysis patients, and the elderly should use this medication with caution. This medication may cause common side effects such as dizziness and peripheral edema, and severe side effects have been reported infrequently. Therefore, if any unusual symptoms occur during use, it is necessary to consult a healthcare professional immediately. Use during pregnancy is extremely dangerous; thus, if you are planning a pregnancy or are pregnant, it is essential to consult with a physician, and it is also safer not to take this medication while breastfeeding. This drug may interact with other medications, so it is important to inform your doctor of any medications currently being taken, especially when used in conjunction with drugs that can raise potassium levels or cardiovascular medications. Hypotension symptoms may occur if blood pressure drops too low, so patients at risk of hypotension should be carefully monitored and treatment adjustments made as needed. Caution is advised when driving or operating machinery, as dizziness or drowsiness may occur. Patients with cardiovascular disease should be carefully monitored as excessive blood pressure reduction may increase the risk of myocardial infarction, among other issues. In case of overdose, serious hypotension or cardiac problems may occur, so immediate emergency treatment is necessary, and appropriate treatment should be applied according to the patient's condition. This drug is not recommended for children, as its safety and efficacy have not been adequately confirmed in pediatric patients. When storing, keep this product out of reach of children and to maintain product quality, it should be opened just before use.

Hives, severe swelling (edema), severe allergic reactions, angioedema (potentially life-threatening), anaphylactic reactions, severe skin reactions, toxic epidermal necrolysis, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, severe headache, seizures, confusion, visual disturbances, paralysis, severe neurologic symptoms, angioedema, jaundice, hepatitis, impaired liver function, liver dysfunction, increased liver enzymes (usually associated with cholestasis), dyspnea, asthma attacks, myocardial infarction

Mild side effects

Dizziness, peripheral edema, upper respiratory infection (including pharyngitis and sinusitis), urinary tract infection (including cystitis), anemia, hyperkalemia, hypoglycemia (in diabetic patients), hyponatremia, hyperglycemia, depression, insomnia, anxiety, confusion, drowsiness, migraine, headache, paresthesia, visual disturbances (including diplopia), vertigo, tinnitus, palpitations, bradycardia, tachycardia, flushing, hypotension, orthostatic hypotension, cough, abdominal pain, dyspepsia, nausea, vomiting
