Treatment of athlete's foot caused by dermatophytes
This medication is used to treat skin infections caused by dermatophytes such as Trichophyton, Microsporum canis, and Epidermophyton floccosum. It is particularly effective for athlete's foot occurring in adolescents and adults aged 15 years and older. It helps to improve fungal infections on the skin and maintain skin health.
This medication is applied only once. Before application, the affected area should be washed thoroughly and dried completely. A sufficient amount should be applied to the affected area and the surrounding skin to ensure adequate moisture. For complete treatment of the fungus, it should also be applied to both feet, even if there are no visible lesions on one side. It should be thinly spread between the toes, and the entire sole of the foot, extending about 1.5 cm up from the sole, should be treated. Allow it to dry for 1-2 minutes.
This medication is an external solution containing terbinafine hydrochloride and is used to treat skin fungal infections. It should not be used by individuals who are allergic to terbinafine or other ingredients of this medication. Pregnant women, women who may become pregnant, and nursing mothers should avoid using this medication. It should not be used in children under 15 years old as safety and efficacy have not been sufficiently confirmed. If any adverse reactions such as hives, redness, irritation, itching, contact dermatitis, skin peeling, stinging sensation, or burning sensation occur while using this medication, discontinue use immediately and consult a physician or pharmacist. If excessive irritation occurs or symptoms worsen, stop use and consult with a professional. Do not use occlusive dressings or packaging techniques without the physician's guidance, and if symptoms do not improve with this medication, tests should be conducted to check for other infectious causes. Since it contains ethanol and other alcohol components, local irritation may occur, so caution is needed when using it on children or mucous membranes. Care should be taken when applying it to wounded or extensive areas or to infants, as absorption could lead to systemic effects. Although animal studies have not reported risks to the fetus during pregnancy, safety in humans has not been established, and it should only be used when necessary. This medication is excreted in breast milk, so it is advisable for nursing mothers to stop breastfeeding while using it. Patients with a history of allergy to propylene glycol should use this medication with caution. If this medication is accidentally ingested, appropriate emergency measures such as gastric lavage should be performed immediately. This medication is for external use only and should not be applied to the eyes or mucous membranes. If it comes into contact with the eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water. It should not be used on nails, the scalp, around the mouth, or on areas where the skin is cracked or sore, as it may cause irritation.
