This medication is used for patients with essential hypertension who find it difficult to control blood pressure with either amlodipine or telmisartan monotherapy. This drug helps effectively control high blood pressure and stabilize it. When blood pressure is properly managed, it can reduce the risks of complications such as heart disease and stroke. It is prescribed according to the patient's condition and improves blood pressure control with consistent use.

How to take

Adult dose

Take 1 tablet once daily, with or without meals, preferably at the same time each day (e.g., in the morning). Patients with renal impairment: Mild and moderate renal impairment do not require dose adjustment; however, patients with severe renal impairment should start treatment at a lower dose and gradually increase. Patients with hepatic impairment: The daily dosage of telmisartan for patients with mild or moderate hepatic impairment should not exceed 40 milligrams.

Child dose

Safety and efficacy in pediatric patients under 18 years of age have not been established, and therefore the use of this medication is not recommended.

Precautions

This medication can pose serious risks to the fetus during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters; therefore, it should not be taken by women who are pregnant or may become pregnant. Patients allergic to the active ingredients or similar components, those with severe liver dysfunction, hypotension, or serious cardiovascular conditions should also avoid taking this medication. Patients with impaired liver function, gastrointestinal disorders, kidney diseases, those on dialysis, or elderly patients need special caution when using this medication. Common side effects such as dizziness and peripheral edema may occur, and serious side effects have been reported rarely; therefore, if any abnormal symptoms appear, immediate consultation with healthcare professionals is advised. Due to the risk of dangerously low blood pressure, if symptoms of hypotension appear, the patient should lie down immediately, and intravenous therapy may be necessary if needed. This medication may interact with other drugs; thus, if the patient is currently taking any medications, it is crucial to inform the doctor or pharmacist. Women who are breastfeeding should avoid taking this medication, and if pregnant or planning to become pregnant, safer treatment options should be selected. Use in children is not recommended as safety and efficacy have not been sufficiently established. In case of overdose, severe hypotension, dizziness, or cardiac issues may occur, so the dosage must strictly be adhered to, and any unusual symptoms should prompt an immediate visit to a medical institution. This medication should be kept out of the reach of children and used immediately after opening the package.

Hives, severe swelling (angioedema), chest tightness, difficulty breathing, cold sweat, pallor, severe allergic reaction, severe rashes accompanied by high fever, blisters, skin peeling, mouth/eye mucous membrane pain, severe skin reactions, asthma attacks, abnormal breathing accompanied by cough and fever, shortness of breath, yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice), extreme lethargy, liver abnormalities (jaundice), sudden and severe headache, lightning-like headaches.
