How it is given

Adult administration

For diclofenac sodium, inject 75mg (1 ampoule) deeply into one side of the upper gluteal muscle once a day. In severe cases, 75mg (1 ampoule) may be administered twice a day, alternating sides each time. After the initial treatment phase, it should be switched to oral tablets or suppositories. Adjustments should be made according to age, condition, and symptoms. Use the smallest effective dose for the shortest duration to minimize cardiovascular adverse reactions.

Precautions

Caution is required if this medication is taken by individuals who regularly consume more than three alcoholic drinks a day, as this increases the risk of gastrointestinal bleeding. Serious cardiovascular issues, such as myocardial infarction or stroke, may occur in individuals with heart and vascular problems or risk factors. Elderly patients or those with a history of gastrointestinal disease should be especially careful due to the risk of ulcers or bleeding in the stomach. Severe allergic reactions can manifest as chest pain and other serious symptoms; immediate consultation with a healthcare professional is required upon the onset of allergy symptoms. Care should be taken to handle the injectables carefully to avoid contamination with glass particles, especially when used in children or the elderly. This medication should not be taken by individuals with peptic ulcers, severe liver or kidney diseases, severe hypertension, heart failure, or known allergies to its components. Individuals with asthma or a history of allergies should use this medication cautiously due to the risk of severe allergic reactions. Long-term use may lead to liver or kidney dysfunction, so regular check-ups are necessary, and the medication should be discontinued immediately upon the appearance of any abnormal symptoms. Individuals with hypertension or heart failure require close observation due to the possibility of increased blood pressure or fluid retention. Pregnant women, especially in late pregnancy, should avoid this medication due to potential harm to the fetus, and nursing mothers should carefully decide on its use due to potential effects on their infants. Children and elderly patients may metabolize the drug differently, so the lowest effective dose should be used cautiously. Co-administration with other anti-inflammatory medications or certain drugs may increase the risk of side effects, so consultation with healthcare professionals is necessary prior to use. In cases of overdose, symptoms such as hypotension, renal failure, or seizures may occur, requiring immediate medical attention.
