Improvement in blood pressure control in essential hypertension
Patients with essential hypertension are advised that if blood pressure is not adequately controlled with monotherapy of telmisartan or amlodipine, additional treatment may be necessary. These medications can help effectively control high blood pressure, but when blood pressure management is difficult with monotherapy, it is important to consult a healthcare professional for appropriate treatment options. This can help maintain stable blood pressure and reduce the risk of complications. Used for the treatment of high blood pressure.
The recommended dose of this medication is 1 tablet once daily, to be taken with water regardless of meals. It is recommended to take it at the same time daily (e.g., in the morning). If blood pressure control is inadequate, switching to this medication after monotherapy with amlodipine or telmisartan can be considered. In patients with kidney impairment, for mild to moderate kidney impairment no dosage adjustment is needed, but patients with severe kidney impairment should start with a lower dose.
The safety and efficacy of this medication in pediatric patients under 18 years of age have not been established, so its use is not recommended.
This drug can pose serious risks to the fetus or newborn, especially during the second and third trimester of pregnancy, so it should not be taken by pregnant women or women who may become pregnant. This medication is contraindicated in patients who have allergies to the active substance or its components, liver impairment, heart problems, severe hypotension, or kidney issues. Patients with impaired liver or kidney function, heart valve disease, or gastrointestinal disorders should use this drug with caution and follow medical advice. While taking this medication, side effects such as dizziness, swelling, and hypotension may occur; if symptoms worsen, consult a healthcare professional immediately. Blood pressure may drop too low, so patients with dehydration should manage their condition well prior to taking this drug, and appropriate measures should be taken if hypotensive symptoms occur. There is a risk of increased potassium levels in the blood, so care should be taken when using potassium supplements or potassium-containing foods concurrently. Patients with poor kidney function should have regular blood tests to monitor kidney function and electrolyte levels. Taking this medication with other antihypertensive drugs can increase the risk of side effects, so consulting a doctor is essential. During the use of this medication, caution is needed while driving or operating machinery, as drowsiness or dizziness may occur. If you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant, it is safer not to take this drug. Additionally, this drug should not be used while breastfeeding. It is not recommended for children or adolescents under 18 years of age, as the safety and efficacy of this medication have not been established. For elderly patients, the dosage should be adjusted and administered with caution; in cases of overdose, severe hypotension or heart issues may arise, requiring immediate medical assistance. This drug should be stored in a cool, dry place away from moisture and out of reach of children; it is advised not to transfer to another container.
