Treatment of allergic skin diseases such as urticaria and eczema, and improvement of liver function in chronic liver disease
This medication is effective for skin diseases such as urticaria, eczema, and allergic skin conditions, and is also used as an adjunct treatment for drug intoxication. Additionally, it helps improve liver function in patients with chronic liver disease, making it broadly applicable for treating various conditions.
2 to 20 mL once daily by intravenous injection. For chronic liver disease, administer 40 to 60 mL once daily by intravenous or drip intravenous injection. In the case of dosage increase, do not exceed 100 mL per day. Adjust dosage according to age and symptoms.
This injection comes in an ampoule, so care should be taken as glass fragments may mix in when cutting the container. Special caution should be exercised when using it on children or the elderly. It should not be administered to patients with hypersensitivity to this medication, or conditions such as aldosteronism, myopathy, or hypokalemia, as it may worsen hypokalemia. Caution is also required for the elderly as there is a higher risk of hypokalemia. Additionally, since it contains sodium bisulfite, caution is necessary for patients with sulfite allergies or asthma. When administering this medication, patients must be monitored closely as serious allergic reactions such as anaphylactic shock may occur. Serum potassium levels may decrease, and symptoms such as elevated blood pressure, swelling, and weight gain may occur, thus regular monitoring is necessary. Co-administration with other medications containing licorice may exacerbate side effects. When used with diuretics, the risk of further potassium reduction is present, and blood tests should be performed to check the condition. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should carefully weigh the risks and benefits of using this medication. When administering intravenous injections, the infusion rate should be slowed to minimize vascular pain. Store out of reach of children and keep in the original container. Lastly, caution is advised as co-administration with this medication and licorice may rarely lead to rhabdomyolysis related to muscle damage.
Anaphylactic shock (low blood pressure, loss of consciousness, difficulty breathing, cardiac arrest, flushing, facial swelling): severe allergic reaction. Asthma attack: respiratory problems. Swelling accompanied by elevated blood pressure: severe swelling or urination problems. Worsening of hypokalemia leading to symptoms such as weakness and muscle weakness
Weakness, muscle weakness, general malaise, muscle pain, rash, adverse reactions, headache, feeling of warmth, vascular pain. Decreased serum potassium, elevated blood pressure, sodium and fluid retention, swelling, and weight gain should be monitored but may be mild symptoms.
Not everyone experiences these, and they can vary from person to person.
This medication should be stored in an airtight container to prevent exposure to air, ideally at room temperature between 1 to 30 degrees Celsius. Proper storage maintains the medication's efficacy and prevents deterioration.
