Do not chew or crush it.
Children: Clinical data on the use of this medicine in children are not yet available.
This medication should not be used in patients with impaired liver function, as it could be harmful if the liver is damaged. Patients with moderate to severe kidney dysfunction should also avoid this medication due to serious risk of muscle damage. Women who are pregnant, potentially pregnant, or breastfeeding should not use this medication as it may harm the fetus or infant. Patients allergic to this medication or its components should not take it. Patients with gallbladder issues or a history of gallstones should exercise caution, as this medication may increase the risk of gallstone formation. Patients who have experienced photosensitivity skin reactions while using fibrate medications or ketoprofen should avoid this medication. Children should not take this medication. Patients with biliary cirrhosis or pancreatitis should also avoid using this medication, except for cases of acute pancreatitis due to severe hypertriglyceridemia. This medication contains lactose, so patients with lactose intolerance or certain genetic disorders should not take it. Patients with slightly impaired kidney function should use this medication cautiously by reducing the dose or increasing the dosing interval, and should have regular kidney function testing. Patients with liver function impairment or a history of liver dysfunction should also use this medication with caution. Patients with low protein levels in the blood, a history of gallstones, those taking anticoagulants or specific cholesterol medications, and the elderly should use this medication carefully. This medication can affect the liver and bile ducts, possibly causing side effects such as yellowing of the skin (jaundice), increased liver enzyme levels, and gallstones, so regular liver function tests are necessary. Skin rashes, itching, and photosensitivity reactions may occur, and in rare cases, serious skin disorders may arise, so any unusual symptoms should be reported to a physician immediately. Symptoms such as dizziness, headaches, muscle pain, and muscle cramps may occur, and if these symptoms worsen, a physician should be consulted. Serious side effects, such as thrombosis, muscle damage, and rhabdomyolysis, could occur; thus, if muscle pain or weakness is severe, medical personnel should be notified immediately. Gastrointestinal disturbances such as abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea may occur, and rare cases of pancreatitis may arise. This medication can affect blood coagulation, and the risk of bleeding should be monitored along with coagulation tests. As there are many drug interactions, especially when taken with cholesterol medications, anticoagulants, diabetes medications, uric acid treatments, and oral contraceptives, patients should consult a physician and exercise caution when taking this medication. It is safer for pregnant or breastfeeding women to refrain from using this medication, and women planning to become pregnant or who may become pregnant should consult healthcare professionals. The elderly should be particularly cautious when taking this medication, as they are likely to have reduced kidney and liver function, increasing the risk of side effects. There are no specific antidotes for overdose, so dosage should be strictly adhered to, and it should be stored out of reach of children.
