This medication helps reduce elevated total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, apo B protein, triglyceride, and non-HDL cholesterol levels in patients with primary hypercholesterolemia, especially heterozygous familial and non-familial, as well as mixed dyslipidemia, and increases HDL cholesterol. It is primarily used as an adjunct to dietary therapy, and it is important to implement it alongside appropriate dietary management that includes restriction of saturated fats and cholesterol. Additionally, when administering lipid-regulating medications to patients at high risk for atherosclerotic vascular disease due to hypercholesterolemia, various risk factors must be considered. Before administration, check for secondary causes such as diabetes, hypothyroidism, and chronic kidney disease, and treat if necessary. During treatment, total cholesterol, LDL, HDL, and triglycerides should be continuously monitored and managed. This medication is used for improving dyslipidemia and reducing the risk of atherosclerotic vascular disease.
